NEW WORKS SUBMISSIONS FOR THEATRE UNDER THE STARS

TUTS prefers script submissions from agents, writers and theatre artists with whom we have an existing professional relationship.

TUTS is unable to accept ongoing responsibility for any unsolicited scripts; the volume of material we consider each year prohibits this. Staff time for review of such submissions is very limited. Unsolicited script and scores have a better chance of return when there is a SASE enclosed; submitters should realize unsolicited materials are taken in with no guarantee of their safekeeping or return (again, due to the volume of submissions).

Please note that TUTS does not guarantee any comments or suggestions about unsolicited new works. Such response can have some legal ramifications, and again, staff time is limited.

More information and networking about developing new musicals can be found at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, which TUTS helped found in 1985 ( http://www.namt.org). There are several other websites online for emerging musical theatre writers, which can be located by searching for keywords such as ASCAP and BMI along with "new musicals'.

New Works Submissions are best sent with hard-copy versions of the libretto (disk/cyber versions, in addition to hard copy, also welcome) and some sort of recording of the score (written scores, in addition to recordings, also welcome) to:
