TUTS Volunteers - Supporting Cast
All the world is a stage as people in theatre like to say. So join our stage here at Theatre Under The Stars by volunteering your time for an enjoyable and exciting cause. Theatre Under The Stars thrives, in part, through the contributions of a wonderful group of Supporting Cast of volunteers who are involved in many of the thrilling aspects of the theatre's operations and classrooms. No matter what your background is, you will always feel at home with the Theatre Under The Stars family. To join in the fun, we ask that you complete an application, interview and attend a mandatory orientation.
ADMINISTRATION
Join us behind the scenes by volunteering to support our staff in the Marketing, Development, Education, and Patron Services departments. Projects may include addressing envelopes, filing, data entry, and other administration duties. These are scheduled projects and each volunteer must dedicate eight hours per month.
These performances take place at the administration offices Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
PATRON SERVICES
Help us make sure our productions are running smoothly! We need volunteers support employees in various capacities in our Box Office, and Boutique during show times. Activities are in conjunction with our productions and normally occur during the evening and weekends.
These take place after normal business hours.
Help us with our student programs.
TUTS affiliate, The River Performing and Visual Arts Center, we need volunteers to help our special students during classes in music, art, drama and dance! Enthusiastic and caring volunteers make this program successful and help make a difference in our children’s lives. Our volunteers help to encourage each child to achieve his/her creative potential in the classroom. All positions are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Volunteer opportunities at The River include:
Saturday Morning Programs
Saturday morning classes are offred for 10 weekends during the school year, from 9:00 AM - 12:45 PM.
Fine Arts Summer Camps
Six (6) one-week summer camp sessions, Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Extra service hours can be acquired by arriving at 8:30 AM for early drop off.
Special Programs
Special programs or projects come up occasionally throughout the year. These can include special events or short term programs. Dates and times will be posted as the need arrives.
Spring 2012 Saturday Morning Programs
As a volunteer artist assistant, you will help encourage children with special needs to achieve their creative ideas and goals, assist teachering artists and teacher aides and be a part of an inclusive, caring and supportive environment. Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of 3 weekends.

Orientation for new volunteers will be held on March 24, 2012 at 8:30 AM.
In order to apply please complete the volunteer application and submit a sign-up sheet listing the date you are available.
No special skills are required to volunteer. We are looking for compassinate individuals. If you have experience helping children with special needs or have special talents related to fine arts, please let us know.
River volunteers must be 15 years old. Volunteers under the age of 15, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years old.
