Theatre Field Trips

The field trip package was designed to provide an overview of musical theatre, from the intricacies of the “triple threat” of acting, singing, and dancing to the complexities of staging a musical theatre production at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. The length of this field trip is 2 hours. In the first hour, the students are taught a song and dance routine from a Broadway musical in the TUTS studios. This package allows the schools to choose the Broadway show and song they would like to have taught to their students. The second hour consists of a back-stage tour of the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts.

Cost: $450

This program is suitable for ages 6 to high school in class sizes of no more than 100 students. Bus parking is available adjacent to the Hobby Center. You can extend your downtown adventure with picnics in Tranquility Park, a visit to the main Houston Library or a tour of the tunnel system.
