HSMT SUMMER CAMP 2012 – 9 Weeks of Camp!
For 40 years TUTS’ Humphreys School of Musical Theatre has offered comprehensive audition and non-audition technique-focused musical theatre training to the Houston community. Our goal at HSMT is to build a musical theatre repertoire that helps our students develop confidence, foster language arts, increase physical coordination, enhance a cooperative ensemble attitude and expand their social skills through the rehearsal and performance process. We look forward to seeing you at our downtown studios.

TUTS Season Workshops - Ages 7-12
ANNIE	Friday, March 23, 2012	5:00 - 7:00 PM

Study the story using musical numbers from the show and discuss show specific details before seeing TUTS mainstage production.  All workshops are offered individually. AGES: 7-12

Musical Theatre Camp - Ages 4-6
June 11 - August 9	Monday - Thursday, 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Weekly performing art camps offer students the opportunity to learn, rehearse and showcase a mini-musical. At the end of each week a showcase is presented to family and friends. New material is selected each week. No audition is required. Registration in advance is required, at least one week prior to camp week. AGES: 4-6.

Musical Theatre Camp Mash Up! - Ages 7-12
June 11 - August 10	Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Mash Up: Students combine a Broadway musical and a big screen movie to create a musical theatre mash-up!  Sing, dance, act and write as a team for one week to create your own GLEE-like production.
AGES: 7-12

Friday 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, show at 11:45 AM

Teen Musical Theatre Class - Scene and Song Study - Ages 13-18
June 11 - 22	Monday – Friday, 1:00 - 5:00 PM

Become a musical theatre triple threat - Students are taught acting, singing and dancing as they work together on scenes and songs from the musical theatre repertoire. Students break down scripts, gain skills in vocal production, movement, dance, physical attack, and character development. The class concludes with a showcase on Friday July 22 at 4:30 PM in the TUTS studio. AGES: 13-18

5, 6, 7, 8 Dance! - Ages 13-18
June 25 - 29	Monday - Friday, 1:00 - 5:00 PM

Five days, five dance styles!  In five days, students study with top level master-class instructors in Jazz, Modern, Tap, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. AGES: 13-18

Audition Skills –Do you have an upcoming audition?  - Ages 13-18
July 9 - 13	Monday - Friday, 1:00 - 5:00 PM

Students learn and improve the process of selecting, studying, and performing a monologue, learn how to approach “cold readings” from a script, and even navigate their way through a 16-bar musical piece and dance break. Students are helped in creating an audition package of two song cuttings (one up-tempo, one ballad), a monologue and a comprehensive performer’s resume.  The class concludes with a mock audition for the TUTS Artistic Team. AGES: 13-18
