Theatre Under the Stars

The Frank M. Young Society

Planned Giving at TUTS

The Planned Giving program at Theatre Under The Stars is named after our founder, Frank M. Young. We invite you to invest in TUTS mission by making a legacy gift. You can support our work on and off stage by naming Theatre Under The Stars as the beneficiary in any of the following types of gifts:

    • Bequest – will or living trust
You can name Theatre Under The Stars as a beneficiary in your will. Suggested language: “I give, devise, and bequeath $_____ to Theatre Under The Stars (TAX I.D. #74-1621647) with offices at 800 Bagby, Suite 200, Houston, TX 77002.”
    • A life insurance policy – new or existing
You can name TUTS as a beneficiary of your existing life insurance policy, or you can also purchase a new life insurance policy to name TUTS as the beneficiary. Contact your insurance broker to indicate that you would like to name Theatre Under The Stars as a beneficiary of your life insurance policy.
  • Trust – charitable remainder trust or charitable lead trust
You can designate TUTS as a nonprofit recipient of a charitable trust and receive the tax benefits associated with your contributions by contacting your financial advisor.
  • Retirement assets – pension plan or IRA
If you are 70½ years or older, you are able to make a qualified charitable distribution (QCD), up to $100,000, directly from your IRA to TUTS. This QDC can satisfy your required minimum distribution and is income tax free. To make a contribution through your IRA, contact your IRA custodian and indicate that you would like to make a charitable contribution to Theatre Under The Stars.
