Established in 1972, The Humphreys School of Musical Theatre, located at the Hobby Center for Performing Arts at 800 Bagby, enriches musical theatre students of all ages, from the beginner to the Broadway bound.  Affectionately known as HSMT, we offer summer camps for students ages 4 – 12 and a summer production for students ages 12 – 19 years old. HSMT welcomes everyone to be a part of the world of musical theatre!

7-12 SUMMER CAMPS

TIMES: 9am-3pm

AGES 7-12 • TUITION: $405 (Tuition covers camp t-shirt and other materials)

Explore the best that Broadway has to offer in this week full of big dance numbers from classics like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, and Pippin! Throughout the week, our campers will build confidence and learn foundational techniques of singing, dancing, and acting while participating in a variety of classes each day. Each student will receive a script to practice throughout the week, culminating in a showcase performance at the end of the week featuring student solo’s, lines, duets, and full company numbers!

Join us for an epic adventure as we travel through the decades exploring the best Disney songs of all time from Tarzan, Frozen, Jungle Book, and more! Throughout the week, our campers will build confidence and learn foundational technique of singing, dancing, and acting while participating in a variety of classes each day. Each student will receive a script to practice throughout the week, culminating in a showcase performance at the end of the week featuring student solo’s, lines, duets, and full company numbers!

4-7 SUMMER CAMPS

Times: Mornings from 8am-12pm and Afternoons from 1pm-5pm

AGES 4-7 • TUITION: $275 per am/pm (Tuition covers camp t-shirt and other materials)

Best of Broadway Jr Camp is catered specifically for students ages 4-7! Throughout the week, our Jr campers will experience a fun, safe, and exciting learning environment focused on building confidence, connection, and are introduced to core musical theater fundamentals through singing, acting, and dancing, culminating in a showcase at the end of the week! Join us as we dive into the best that Broadway has to offer this week full of big dance numbers from musicals we know and love.

TEEN SUMMER PRODUCTION

JULY 24-Aug 6th: HEAD OVER HEELS SUMMER SHOW

AGES 12-19 • TUITION: $740

Pre-sale and auditions for currently enrolled students will open on February 24, 2023.
Registration and auditions will open to the public on March 10, 2023.

A hilarious, exuberant celebration of love, Head Over Heels follows the escapades of a royal family on an outrageous journey to save their beloved kingdom form extinction—only to discover the key to their realm’s survival lies within each of their own hearts.

We have begun a waiting list for Head Over Heels; if interested in being placed on the list, send an email to education@tuts.com with the student name, emails (student and parent), and copy of your headshot/resume. If spots open up, a member of the TUTS Education staff will reach out regarding registration. Students will be moved from the waitlist based on the needs of the production; therefore, the order in which you are placed on the list will not factor.

HSMT has a no refund policy. Every hour of each class is essential; on-time and full-session attendance is mandatory. If a student needs to be withdrawn, contact the TUTS Education office at 713.558.8801 for options. Upon registration, a confirmation email will be sent sharing important course details.
