Learn what it takes to build a complete TUTS production from the ground up – specifically through the lens of the cast, creative team, and experts in our field. Tech Talks

You are invited to witness an empty stage become the setting of the next big production. During a Tech Talk you will hear from experts in technical theatre explain how they transform spaces and people into instruments of art. Whether it is how costumes are made or how lighting and scenery are set, you’ll get an insider view of how a production is crafted.

More Than Song and Dance with Paul Hope

Guided by your host, Paul Hope, you will be entertained and informed about the histories of the shows you will soon see on the stage of Sarofim Hall. Hope has appeared in more than 40 TUTS productions—his years in the Houston theatre community will pepper the history of musical theatre with personal anecdotes and sidebars you won’t want to miss. More than Song and Dance promises to be the most fun you have ever had at a history lecture.

HSMT Masterclass Series

Taught by industry experts, masterclasses are for both professional and amateur actors, directors, and choreographers. Sit in on a class as HSMT students learn from Houston’s top theatre professionals in the disciplines of voice, stage, dance, costuming, and apprentices.
