Theatre Under the Stars (“TUTS”) operates https://www.tuts.com (the “website”). This page provides our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of any information that we receive from the users of this website.
Information Collection and Use
When you use the website, TUTS may ask you to provide certain information that may be used to contact or identify you or for certain payments (“personal identification information”). There is also information that we may collect that your web browser sends as a matter of course when browsing this website or many other sites on the internet. TUTS uses this information to process your orders, personalize your theatrical experience, offer you unique offers, and to keep you informed about other local ticket offers or community experiences. For information that we collect on the website, TUTS is the sole owner, and we will not sell, share, or rent this information to any other party except as described in this policy. Information may be collected in the following ways on the website:
TUTS requests information from users on several forms on the site. On these forms, users may provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer orders. If we have trouble processing orders, we use the contact information to get in touch with our users. The credit card information that we collect is encrypted once the form is submitted and deleted after seven days.
A cookie is a file with a small amount of data that is stored on a user’s hard drive and that may contain certain information about the user, like an anonymous unique identifier. Placement and usage of a cookie by our website is in no way linked to any personal identification information. Once the user closes his or her browser, the cookie terminates. Cookies can enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance their experiences on our website. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our website.
Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends automatically when you visit our website. This information may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type, your browser version, the pages of our website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the amount of time spent on our website, and other statistics. We use IP addresses and other such information to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personal identification information.
If a user wishes to subscribe to our StarMail service, we request and store contact information such as name and email address.
This web site contains links to other sites, including our ticketing partner Paciolan, denoted by addresses including "evenue". Please be aware that TUTS is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected on TUTS.com.
If a user wishes to subscribe to our StarMail service, we ask for contact information such as name and email address.
If a user elects to use our referral service for informing a friend about our website, we ask the user for the friend’s name and email address. We will then automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the website. TUTS stores this information for 90 days and for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email. The friend may contact TUTS to request the removal of this information from our database.
The TUTS website contains links to other sites, including Paciolan (generally for ticketing), Raiser’s Edge/Blackbaud (generally for donations), and Stelter (generally for planned giving). These sites may have their own, separate privacy practices, and TUTS is not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our website and to read the privacy statements of any site that collects personal identification information.
We will share aggregated demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any personal identification information. We reserve the right to partner with another party to provide specific services. When a user signs up for these services, we will share names or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These parties are not allowed to use personal identification information except for the purpose of providing these services.
TUTS aggressively protects our users’ information. When users submit personal identification information on our website, we protect it online through encryption and offline through a robust data retention policy. For example, when users enter personal identification information on our registration/order form, that information is subsequently encrypted and protected with highly-regarded encryption software. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the browser will show as locked.
In addition, all of our users’ information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to user information. All employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices, and any servers that contain personal identification information are kept in a secure, encrypted environment.
While the security of personal identification information is of paramount importance to us, remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100 percent secure. No one can guarantee the absolute security of any information transmitted through the internet.
Our users are given the opportunity to opt out of having their personal identification information used for purposes not directly related to our site. For example, our order form has an opt-out mechanism so that users who buy a product, but do not want any marketing material, can restrict the use of their email addresses. And users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials from our partners may opt out of receiving these communications by following the opt out link sent with each email newsletter.
Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make informed choices as to whether they should proceed with services that require outside parties.
By accessing and using this website, you acknowledge, understand, and accept the practices described in this policy.
