2023/24 ACADEMY AUDITIONS

new students

AUDITION TYPE: In Person/Virtual

AUDITION INFORMATION: Prospective TUTS Academy students can use the Academy Application form linked below to submit their audition application for the 2023/2024 HSMT Academy. Auditions will be held in person at the TUTS Studios (800 Bagby St, Houston, TX 77002) with a virtual option for any student unable to attend in person.

In Person Audition Schedule: Ages 10-18; July 20, 2023 from 4:30pm-8pm

PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS: Information on auditions for TUTS Pre-Professional Programs, such as Junior Theatre Festival and The TUTS Pre-Professional Company, will be available on the Pre-Professional Programs webpage on July 5, 2023. This information will also be included in the registration email for any students admitted to the Academy. Please note that participation in pre-professional programs is predicated on Academy admission and registration.

After auditioning, new students can expect to hear back on their admission status in early August 2023.

All audition applications are due no later than July 17, 2023.

Returning Students

AUDITION TYPE: Virtual.

AUDITION INFORMATION: Returning TUTS Academy students can use the form linked below to submit their audition materials for placements in any discipline listed as “No Placement” on their 22/23 Academy Class Report. Requests for changes to existing placements can not be accommodated. Students will only need to submit videos in the disciplines for which they are seeking placement.

PRE-PROFESSIONAL PROGRAMS: Information on auditions for TUTS Pre-Professional Programs, such as Junior Theatre Festival, The TUTS Pre-Professional Company, and TUTS Mainstage was included in returning student registration emails being sent on June 21, 2023.

After auditioning, returning students will have any additional placements communicated in early August 2023.

All placement submissions are due no later than July 17, 2023.

TUTS Education held a virtual parent meeting on May 24, 2023. This meeting was open to the parents of both returning and prospective students and covered several topics including a preview of new course offerings, proposed policies, updated procedures, and an extensive Q&A session with parents.
