Recurring Programs

HSMT proudly celebrates over forty years of bringing top musical theatre training to Houston, along with the countless stars—from Pre-K to prime time—who have brightened our stages and our classrooms. See below for examples of recurring programs. To register for classes currently being offered, select the age group for your student: 4-7, 8-12, 13-18, or Adult.

Open Enrollment Classes | enrichment for all audiences

You don’t have to be looking for a lifetime in the limelight to explore the delights of song, dance and acting. Our open enrollment courses at HSMT offer a host of benefits to beginners and professionals alike, from increased confidence and physical coordination to enhanced proficiency in language arts, cooperative ensemble attitude, and sense of camaraderie. Whether you’re a tentative tenor or distinguished diva, we welcome you to find your inspiration through our broad educational repertoire.

Audition-Only Classes | training for the Broadway bound

The Academy at HSMT was created to train career-minded students in the professional techniques of acting, singing and dancing. Those accepted and enrolled into the Academy will embark on a 24-week curriculum that includes Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced classes in Tap, Ballet/Jazz, Improvisation, Scene Study, Acting, Voice and Music Theory.
In addition to coursework, students will also be presented with opportunities to gain live stage experience, putting their skills to the test via end-of-year performances, matinee projects in Zilkha Hall, and three-day shows at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Our Academy enrollees are the only students eligible for placement in TUTS’ mainstage productions in Sarofim Hall.

Summer Conservatory Program

The Summer Conservatory Program of the Academy at The Humphreys School of Musical Theatre strives to bring Houston’s finest musical theatre talent ages 13-18 together once a year to rehearse and present a fully staged production.
