Summer Camp Sessions

The River offers weekly musical theatre summer camps for students ages 4 – 19 with disabilities and their siblings. One-week sessions are offered Monday – Friday from 9:30AM – 2:30PM with free public performances each Friday @ 12:30pm.

Session 1: June 15 – 19, AUDITION BOOT CAMP – Paying homage to The Little Mermaid while polishing audition prep skills including stage presence, dance, and vocals.

Session 2: June 22– 26, ALL AMERICAN – Saluting all things red, white, & blue through the song and dance of it all.

Session 3: July 6 – 10, THE MUSIC MAN – Discover the trouble in River City with this toe-tapping musical chock full of show tunes.

Session 4: July 13 – 17, JUKEBOX MUSICALS – Popular music takes center stage as we tell the stories of musicians.

Session 5: July 20 – 24, OLYMPIC SPIRIT – Kick off the Summer Olympics with us and serenade the sports world.

Session 6: July 27 – 31, RHYTHM, FUNK, & SOUL – Celebrate the music of Motown.

The River – Enrollment Information

FEES

Summer Camp
Tuition: $175 per one-week session.
Registration fee $25 per student.
TUTS has a no refunds policy.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

TUTS SUBSCRIBERS SAVE!

If you’re a TUTS Subscriber, you will save 10% when you enroll your child at The River.

Location

Unless otherwise noted, all classes are offered at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center located at 1475 West Gray St.

Eligibility

Although there are no restrictions based on diagnosis or mobility, River staff reserves the right to withdraw a student from the program if they pose a safety risk to themselves or others; if the student is unwilling to stay in the classroom the majority of class time, and/or if the student frequently disrupts classroom activities. The River has a zero-tolerance policy for violence.

Cancellation Policy

The River Performing and Visual Arts Center does not provide refunds partial or full once enrolled in a class with out approval of The River staff. Should a conflict occur before a scheduled class begins, students may transfer into a later session.

Nurse and Medical Information

A licensed nurse is on duty. Please provide detailed medical information on the Registration Form along with this allergy form if applicable. If medication needs to be dispensed, this permission form must be completed.

Confirmation of Registration

You will be emailed a packet that includes a confirmation of registration and information about dress and other important program facts.

Financial Aid

Assistance is available through the Binstock Financial Fund and is based on financial need.

In order to be considered, please complete the following:

  1. Complete the online Scholarship Form.

  2. Your 2018 tax return

  3. Complete the Registration Form above and Submit the Registration Fee. This must be submitted in order to be considered.

Funds are limited and awards are made for partial or full tuition based on the students’ need and the availability of funds. Awards are not transferable to other students or other semesters.

All recipients are required to complete an end of semester evaluation and submit a thank you note to the Binstock Financial Aid Fund.
